Faversham Town are starting to look up the table after extending their unbeaten run to four matches.

Saturday’s 4-1 win at home to Greenwich has moved the Lilywhites nine points clear of the league’s bottom side.

They’ve won three of those games and have recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since September.

Joint-manager Phil Miles said: “It’s been a long time coming and we’re really pleased the way things are going.

“It was a big game on Saturday, to keep Greenwich away from us.

“I think we can start looking at the teams who are slightly above us and maybe progress as high up the league as possible.

“We’re not taking anything for granted because Greenwich could win their next three games. But there’s a little less looking behind us now to see who’s doing what below us.”

Faversham had lost four in a row before starting this run – so what’s changed?

Miles said: “It’s because there’s been no changes. We’ve played the same team for the last four games. Everyone’s started to click with each other and we’re finding out strengths and weaknesses within the team.

“It’s been the same back four, the same three in midfield and the same three up front.

“We’re not chopping and changing, we haven’t had injuries or suspensions and as long as that continues, we’ll pick up more points.”

After three home games in a row, Faversham face two tough away games in the next week.

They go to third-placed Hastings on Saturday before visiting Haywards Heath, another team in the Bostik South East play-off places, on Tuesday.

Miles said: “They’re going to be difficult games but with the run we’re on, we’re confident. Whitstable got a good point against Hastings on Saturday and they’re no better side than us.

“If we go down there and perform like we have been, I’m positive we’ll get something out of the game.

“Haywards Heath will also be tough and then we’ve got Whyteleafe after that. If we can get the next two weeks out of the way and pick up as many points as we can, we’ll be pleased.

“There are games coming up against teams in and around us so they’re the ones we’ve got to win.”

Miles and joint-boss Danny Chapman are hoping to make at least one new signing next week.
