It was a disappointing weekend for Faversham’s Finn Smart-Weeden on his Kawasaki Ninja400 motorcycle at the British Superbikes event at Norfolk’s Snetterton race circuit.
Smart-Weeden, 14, crashed out after three laps in qualifying.
During the race on Saturday, once again three laps in, he lost front-end feel and finished in 14th, although he did add one point to his championship total.
The following day he started from 27th position, but made inroads through the field - only to be beaten to the line by just 0.004sec leaving him in 16th place and without any more points.
Smart-Weeden said: “Overall, I have to admit to being disappointed.
“With a fully-functional bike, I’ve proved I have the pace to race in the top 12 but we have been dogged with technical issues the whole BSB season.”
He competes at Silverstone this weekend.
