Faversham Town caretaker boss Clive Walker on match with Greenwich Borough

Clive Walker wants Faversham Town to stop giving away needless goals after they have thrown away leads in recent games.
Faversham let a two goal advantage against VCD Athletic slip on Saturday in the Bostik South East and they were beaten 5-2.
Caretaker boss Walker wants his side to cut those out in their match on Saturday against Greenwich Borough.
He said: “We have got to be in the lead for a long time and not give away soft goals. It is a mentality thing as well.
“We have got some hard games coming up and have to get our act together.
“I think it does have an affect on the players with no manager at the moment. They are in limbo and don’t know what will change when someone comes in.
“Greenwich just beat Bishops Stortford in the cup and it is never easy going there.
“We have to use a bit more common sense and not give possession away at the wrong end of the pitch.
“We can’t get caught out in certain areas and have to play more sensible football.”
Faversham struggled to keep their lead against VCD on Saturday and two quick goals before the break from Charlie MacDonald saw the momentum shift in the game.
Walker said: “It was disappointing that we were 2-0 up before half-time. You would hope we had enough in the team to keep that lead but we made mistakes.
“They played very well in the second half against us. They were much quicker to the ball and I have no problems with the second half.
“If it had stayed 2-0 to us at half-time it would have been a different game. The momentum was with them going into that second half.
“I can’t quite put my finger on why we are giving away these goals. For the first 40 minutes of the match we were comfortable.
“We kicked ourselves in the teeth with two soft goals. There’s enough experience in that team to know they should just put the ball out of the ground.”
