Southern Counties East round-up: Wins for all four sides in the play-off places as battle to finish runners-up goes to the wire

Faversham maintained second place in Southern Counties East with a big home win over bottom side Welling Town.

Billy Bennett’s first-half double, scoring either side of a Deji Owoeye effort, gave the Lilywhites a 2-1 lead at the break.

Late goals from Warren Mfula and Dan Thompson completed a 4-1 victory in the penultimate match of the season.

Third-placed Glebe are staying with Faversham in the battle to finish runners-up following a 4-0 success at Lydd Town.

Nathan Mampono opened the scoring, with Marcel McDonald and Jamie Phlipott’s late double wrapping up the points to keep the Foxes level on points with Tommy Warrilow’s men.

Corinthian are just a point back in fourth after beating champions Deal 3-0 at home.

Oscar Housego scored twice, including a penalty, and Michael Hagan also struck as the Hoops suffered a second successive defeat since winning the title last weekend.

Harry Taylor’s last-minute goal maintained Erith Town’s winning run.

Taylor earned a 2-1 win over Lordswood after Tom Ash’s goal was cancelled out by Callum Peck.

The Dockers are safely in the play-offs, in fifth place, but could still finish runners-up themselves.

Whitstable are out of play-off contention but are finishing the season strongly after a third straight win.

Emmanuel Oloyede opened the scoring in a 4-0 win at Holmesdale, followed by Josh Oliver’s double and a goal for Liam Gillies.

They move into sixth, above Bearsted, who lost 2-0 at Rusthall following early goals for Jack Lyons and Ben Branch.

Hollands & Blair fought back from two down to draw with Tunbridge Wells.

Rory Ward and Trevor McCreadie put Wells in charge but Devonte West and Rob Denness’ last-minute equaliser salvaged a point.

All the goals came in the first half as Snodland lost 2-1 at home to VCD Athletic.

Both teams struck from the spot as George Whitelock’s opener for the visitors was cancelled out by Taylor Fisher.

Charlie Heatley grabbed the Vickers’ winner.

Kyron Lightfoot’s last-gasp strike gave Kennington a 2-1 home win against Punjab United.

Finn Dent edged Ton in front before the hour mark, with Cruis Nyadzayo levelling eight minutes from time.

Sam Smith’s goal on the stroke of half-time gave Stansfeld a 1-0 victory over Sutton Athletic.
