Teen arrested after hit and run in Cheriton left man needing air ambulance to take him to London where he is critically ill

A teenager has been arrested after an alleged hit and run which left a man fighting for his life.
The victim was airlifted to hospital after the incident in Weymouth Road in Cheriton on Friday evening.
A teenage driver has since been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following the collision.
He was later released on bail pending further inquiries until August 10.
The victim remains in a London hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Emergency services, including two responder cars, an ambulance and police were called at around 7.20pm.
The air ambulance landed in Cheriton Rec and part of the road was closed to allow it to land and take-off.
