Armed police called to Pannell Drive in Hawkinge after reports of men seen with firearms

Armed police were called to a residential area in Hawkinge yesterday following reports that two men may have been spotted holding guns.
Police were called to Pannell Drive in Hawkinge at 3pm on Wednesday and were joined by an armed response team.
Firearms officers were called as a precaution.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident adding: "After making enquiries at the scene there was no further information to substantiate the report and no evidence that any offences had been committed."
