Man in custody following disturbance outside Gillespies in Folkestone

A man has been arrested following a disturbance near a harbour.
The incident took place outside Gillespies bar in Harbour Street on Saturday, January 19, during which a man reported being threatened with a weapon at around 1.40am.
Firearms officers were called to the scene near to Parade Steps and Beach Street.
Despite an extensive search of the area no suspect was found and no weapon was recovered.
On Sunday, January 27, a man aged 50 from Lydd was arrested in London on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
He remains in police custody.
Detectives still want to identify the man in the CCTV image who may be able to assist them with further information.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the man in the image is urged to contact Kent Police as soon as possible.
