Man arrested on suspicion of GBH after woman seriously assaulted in Cheriton, Folkestone

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a woman was found with facial injuries.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to Underhill Road in Cheriton, Folkestone, at about 10.30am.
Police say the victim was taken to hospital where she remains.
Following inquiries, a man in his 20s, who was known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody while the investigation continues.
Det Sgt Hannah Knight said: "I would like to talk to anyone who believes they have information about this incident.
"I would like to reassure the community that we are treating the incident as isolated, and are not looking for anyone else in connection to the assault."
The air ambulance was spotted landing near St Martin’s Church in Horn Street.
