Man arrested on suspicion of shoplifting in Stoddart Road, Cheriton

A 25-year-old man remains in police custody this morning after he was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting.
Police were called to Phillip Road, Cheriton, at about 9.15pm last night where two police vehicles temporarily blocked the road.
The arrest was made in Stoddart Road.
A police spokesman said: "A 25-year-old man who was wanted in connection with two reports of shoplifting was arrested and is currently in custody."
