Man taken to hospital after assault outside flats in Folkestone

An assault in Folkestone yesterday left a man in hospital with serious head injuries.
The 59-year-old man was attacked outside Phoenix Court in Clarence Street on Sunday afternoon.
An ambulance and police was called to the scene at 4.10pm, and staff tended to the man before taking him to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said he was semi-conscious and was treated for head injuries by paramedics.
Matthew Green, 35, from Folkestone was arrested by police an hour later on suspicion of assualt and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent.
He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was remanded in custody until his next appearance on October 7.
