A man has been arrested following a sex-in-a-car row in Marine Crescent, Folkestone

A man has been arrested for assault and public indecency after a sex-in-a-car row.

A member of the public had been punched after he confronted the couple for having sex inside a car in Folkestone.

It had been claimed they had been engaging in the act in full view of the victim's children.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “A 25-year-old Folkestone man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and outraging public decency after a man reported he had been punched after confronting a couple having sex in a car.”

Police were called to the incident at Marine Crescent at 9.15am yesterday and the arrest took place that afternoon.

Officers had said that the victim had been able to give a description of the car and its registration number and the details were then circulated to patrolling officers.

The accused man was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving for an incident later that morning.

He has now been released on bail, pending further enquiries, until May 1.
