Folkestone: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Downs Road after stabbing

A man is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder after a suspected stabbing.
Police were called to Downs Road in Folkestone last night after "reports of a disturbance" and found a man in his 50s with stab wounds to his head.
He was taken to hospital and police confirmed he is in a stable condition today.
Officers were called shortly after 7.30pm and arrested a 36-year-old man at the scene following a search of the area.
Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and recovered a knife while arresting the man at 11pm.
Residents in Downs Road were surprised to learn of the "disturbance" with one woman saying "it's a nice road, we've been here 10 years".
The incident is thought to be linked to Lord Cornwallis Court in The Waltons, a cul-de-sac off Downs Road.
Police said the attack happened in Downs Road but officers were also carrying out inquiries at the block of flats.

A police car was parked in the residents only car park for more than 30 minutes on Friday afternoon, thought to be carrying out further inquiries.
One couple said: "There was shouting going on, we certainly heard all the shouting, someone said 'I'm going to kill you' with arms flying and a man steaming off between the cars."
Rich Airey, spokesman for the ambulance service, said two vehicles arrived at the scene at 7.50pm.
He said: "The male patient in his 50s had a head wound and was taken as a priority to hospital."
He described the injuries as "serious".
It is understood the man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
Witnesses said they saw police officers in Athelstan Road for around an hour and a half.
Three patrol cars were seen outside a house from 8pm. This was reduced to one car for around an hour until they left the scene at 9.30pm.
An officer was also seen patrolling in Joyes Road wearing blue gloves.
Police were at the scene this morning carrying out further inquiries.
