Motorcyclist critical after crash with Peugeot car in Folkestone last night

A 21-year-old motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a Peugeot car in Folkestone last night.

The man, riding a Yamaha 600 bike, was badly hurt in the crash with the black Peugeot 3008 car at 11pm on Church Road at the junction with Pond Hill Road.

He was initially taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with life-threatening injuries, but was later transferred to King's College Hospital in London.

The car driver was not hurt.

PC Guy Ditcher, of the serious collision investigation unit, said the motorcyclist was from Folkestone, and his family have been informed.

The road was closed for four hours for police to carry out their investigations.
