Bin fire in Brockman Road, Folkestone, almost engulfs hairdressing salon
12:00, 20 July 2015
A hairdressing salon had a lucky escape after a nearby bin fire almost engulfed the shop early this morning.
The four wheelie bins were completely destroyed at the premises in Brockman Road in Folkestone after they caught fire behind the shop.
Fire crews were called just after 6.30am after the fire had spread to two windows at the back of the property.
They were on the scene for around 20 minutes and used a hose reel jet to douse the flames before using a thermal imaging camera to check inside the building to see if fire had spread inside.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is not yet known.
