Alleged Folkestone brothel keeper due to stand trial

A woman is due to stand trial accused of keeping a brothel in Folkestone.

Yuk Kwai Cheung is charged with running the venue in Harvey Street and is set to appear before a judge next month.

Miss Cheung, 50, appeared this week at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court for the first time to face the charges put before her.

It is alleged she ran the brothel between January 1 and January 15.

A court service spokesman said Miss Cheung was granted bail and will appear next at Canterbury Crown Court on September 12.
