A series of hustings debates for prospective parliamentary candidates in Folkestone and Hythe taking place this week may not go ahead after the terror attack in Manchester.
Campaigning was suspended as a mark of respect by all the parties and independent candidates standing in the constituency today.
The decision was taken after 22 people - one victim who was only eight-years-old - were killed by a suicide bomber as they left the Manchester Arena on Monday night after a concert by American popstar Ariana Grande.
There has been no announcement about whether candidates will resume campaigning tomorrow.
The Shepway Pensioners Forum had organised a hustings to take place at the Civic Centre in Folkestone from 11am tomorrow attended by all seven candidates.
But Labour’s candidate Laura Davison confirmed after speaking to organisers that the event would only be going ahead if party leaders agreed to resume the campaign trail tomorrow ahead of the vote on June 8.
The Union flag is flying at half-mast outside the Civic Centre in Folkestone today.

All seven candidates - Lynne Beaumont (Lib Dem), Damian Collins (Con), Laura Davison (Lab), David Plumstead (Ind), Stephen Priestley (Ukip) Naomi Slade (Ind) Martin Whybrow (Green) - were invited to attend.
But Mr Collins and Ms Davison have pulled out of appearing due to a prior engagements.
Labour is hosting a "crisis meeting" about the state of the NHS that night at Dover Road Social Club (7pm), with Ms Davison due to speak.
Thursday's hustings will take place at Lyminge Village Hall from 8pm and are set to cover issues including Otterpool Park, Lympne Airfield and the M20 lorry park proposals.
