Fire crews tackle caravan fire in Broomfield Road Folkestone

A caravan has been destroyed by a fire which broke out in the early hours in Folkestone.
The cause of the fire, in Broomfield Crescent off of Broomfield Road, in Cheriton is now under investigation and police are treating the fire as suspicious.
Emergency services descended on the road just after 4.30am this morning and the van parked nearby suffered heat damage.

By around 5am the blaze had been brought under control and there were no injuries reported.
Two fire engines attended the scene and the area has been cordoned off with police tape.

The caravan is believed to have been derelict and parked in the road for more than a year.
Police were made aware by Kent Fire and Rescue Service of the fire at 5.16am.
The force confirmed that both vehicles were unattended at the time, and said enquiries are ongoing.
