A budding DJ will be taking to the decks for 12 hours today to raise money for a cancer charity that helped his cousin get through leukaemia.
Shannon Humphrey, 21, of London Road, Deal, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 13 and endured treatment for three years.
One charity that helped Miss Humphrey was Teens Unite, an organisation that helps youngsters battle the disease.
Now fully recovered, the former Dover Grammar School for Girls pupil has joined her relative Ben Humphrey to support the cause.
Mr Humphrey, 23, of Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, has spent three months arranging the day-long event on Saturday.
It is taking place at 46 Tontine Street, Folkestone, and will feature special guests from the house-music world.
It runs from 11am until 11pm.
People can bring their own refreshments and the bar will open for the evening’s entertainment.
Mr Humphrey said: “My beautiful cousin Shannon has chosen Teens Unite as she has fought the big C word and they have been there to support her through the incredibly tough times.
“I will be streaming the event live through the internet, so if someone isn’t lucky enough to bag a ticket, they can watch from the comfort of their own home.”
He is selling 35 tickets at £10 a go and the event also has a private guest list.
Miss Humphrey said: “I am so grateful to have such a supportive family.
“Ben is more like a brother to me and this event he has set up means the world. He will smash it.”
