Crews called to fire at derelict house in Tram Road, Folkestone

Emergency services were called to a fire at an abandoned house last night.

Two engines alongside police were seen at Stonegate House in Tram Road, Folkestone, just before 9pm.

Smoke could be seen coming from the building after flames spread from a bonfire.

A fire service spokesman said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to Tram Road in Folkestone, to reports of a fire in a derelict building.

“Two fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus, put the fire out using a hose reel jet. Kent Police also attended.

“There were no reported injuries, and the cause has been linked to flames spreading from a bonfire.”

Police have been contacted for more information.
