Delays of up to 90 minutes after Eurotunnel shuttle breaks down in Channel Tunnel between Folkestone and Calais
17:00, 03 June 2014
Passengers using the Channel Tunnel are this evening experiencing delays of up to 90 minutes after a shuttle became stuck en route to France.
Eurotunnel began tweeting earlier this afternoon when a technical fault on a passenger service was detected.
The train is now moving towards Calais but delays will continue to affect passengers trying to board at Folkestone while the backlog of services is cleared.
Lorries have been backing up along the M20 coastbound carriageway close to the terminal at junction 11a.
Eurotunnel says delays are now being reduced to around an hour.
