Folkestone: Woman bitten by dog on The Stade as police hunt owner

A dog owner fled the scene with their animal after a woman was bitten on the face.

Police are now hunting the dog and the owner following the attack in Folkestone last night.

The woman was treated at the scene for facial injuries but did not need to be taken to hospital.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were trying to find the owner and their dog.

Officers were called just after 7.10pm to The Stade by the harbour.

The woman was discharged by paramedics at the scene.

Police have not issued a description of the dog owner or the dog itself.
