Man arrested in Cheriton High Street after gun report

A man in his 40s was arrested this morning after armed officers swooped on a car in Cheriton High Street.
Police were called at 10.30am to reports a man had been seen with a firearm.
Armed officers stopped a vehicle but no weapon was found.
The driver was arrested for possession of cannabis and remains in custody.
Inquiries are ongoing.
