Man hit by car in in Dover Road Folkestone

A man in his 30s was rushed to hospital with a head injury after he was hit by a car which left the scene before police arrived.

Officers were called to the junction of Harbour Way and Dover Road in Folkestone just by the The Raglan at about 8.19pm yesterday evening.

It was reported the driver who hit the pedestrian left the scene before police got there.

Fiona May took to Twitter to say that she helped the man before police arrived.

"I gave medical assistance until the police arrived. Hope he's OK," she said.

Inquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.

Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said two vehicles were called to the scene at 8.20pm.

He said: "One patient was treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

"The man aged in his 30s suffered a head injury."

It comes hours after a young girl was hit by a car and rushed to hospital just a few yards away at Dover Road.
