People are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed after smoke billowed from a house fire.
The incident started at 4.52pm, at a house in Sunnyside Road, in Sandgate, Folkestone.
There are eight fire engines at the scene, as well as a bulk water carrier.
The fire service has asked people living or working nearby to close windows and doors as a precaution.
There was another fire not far away just minutes earlier when a vehicle caught fire on the M20 at Junction 11 near the Eurotunnel terminal.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called at 4.27pm to reports of a car alight near to the entrance of the Eurotunnel, in Folkestone. Two fire engines attended and crews extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported."
It was all over by just after 5pm.
