An elderly man has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in Folkestone town centre this lunchtime.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Sandgate Road at just after midday to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance said: "We got a call just after midday to Sandgate Road near Cheriton Place.
"A man had been hit by a car and was reported to be suffering from hip pain. We sent one ambulance crew and a car and taken him to William Harvey Hospital for further treatment.
"The called believed he had been clipped by a wing mirror rather than a full on hit."
The road was temporarily closed while paramedics gave treatment at the scene but was reopened at 1.10pm.
