Tickets to watch England take on Denmark in the semi finals of the Euros on the big screen sold out in a record 45 seconds.

The team from Folkestone Harbour Arm launched the sale at 6pm last night - and less than a minute later the event was a sell out.

The game on Wednesday night will mark the first time England have reached the semi finals since 1996, when they were knocked out by Germany.

It comes after The Three Lions triumphed over Ukraine on Saturday night, beating them 4-0.

A spokesman for the Harbour Arm said: "Since England progressed to the knockout rounds of Euro 2020, tickets have been selling out in record time for each match.

"Last night, we were amazed to see tickets sell out in an unbelievable 45 seconds.

"This is a limited capacity event that is in incredibly high demand.

"On average, 20 times more people have been trying to purchase tickets than are available.

"We are sorry that some are missing out on enjoying these historic England games with us, but are equally delighted that so many people have been able to enjoy our rolling sports coverage throughout the summer so far."

The Harbour Arm will also show the Italy v Spain semi final tonight. Entry for this game is free, with tables available on a first come, first served basis.

Food venue, The Goods Yard, will open one hour before kick off.

The popular venue will also continue to screen a summer of sport, including Wimbledon, The Open, The Lions Tour, the F1, the Hundred and the Olympics, with entry to all these sports completely free.

Movies nights are also due to return later this month.

Other places in Kent which will show the match tomorrow include Dreamland in Margate.

However the theme park has introduced strict measures - including fans testing negative for Covid-19 - in an attempt to avoid the chaos which occurred at the England v Germany game last week.

This includes smoke bombs being let off, tables being flipped and people storming the stage.
