A fire which destroyed a garden shed in Folkestone was caused by a discarded cigarette, fire crews say.
Firefighters were called to St Winifred Road just after 5pm yesterday where a shed and surrounding decking was alight.
Three fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which caused heat damage to nearby homes.
Nobody was injured.
Following this incident, firefighters are urging smokers to dispose of smoking materials responsibly by making sure cigarettes are stubbed out in an ashtray and fully cool before being put in a bin.
