Man remains in 'critical condition' after flat fire in Connaught Road, Folkestone

A man who was taken to hospital after a flat fire remains in a critical condition, police have confirmed.
Police, the fire service and ambulance crews were called to the scene at Connaught Road in Folkestone yesterday at 9.20am.
A police spokesman said: "The scene remains under the control of emergency services while an examination is completed into the cause of the fire.
"The ambulance service went to the scene and a man was taken to a local hospital where his condition is described as critical."
The road was taped off for hours as firefighters wearing breathing apparatus checked the building.
