Five charged after cannabis cultivation shut down in Pavillion Road, Folkestone

Five people have been charged after a large amount of cannabis was confiscated from inside a house.

Officers attended Pavillion Road in Folkestone last Thursday where they found around 150 cannabis plants and growing equipment.

Four police vehicles and a forensic team were seen in the street as the arrests were made.

Cuma Delioglu, 36, of Tottenham, north London, Michael Greatorex, 44, of Camden, Robert McKinley, 44, also of Camden, and Adem Kavosoglu, of no fixed address, have all been charged with aggravated burglary.

Fermirando Dashi, 20, of Pavilion Road, Folkestone, has been charged with producing cannabis.

Police were called to the residential street at 11.50pm last Wednesday following reports of a disturbance in a house.

All five men appeared before the town's magistrates' court on April 14 and the case was adjourned to Canterbury Crown Court on May 15.

Det Insp James Wyles said: "The money made from sites of this kind invariably ends up in the hands of criminal groups.

"I am pleased a quick response to this incident by local officers has led to five arrests and the shutting down of this cultivation site.

"I urge anyone who is concerned illegal drugs are being produced or sold in their area to report it to Kent Police through our website, or by calling 999 if a crime is in progress."
