Four men have been charged with burglary following a huge emergency response in a town centre.
Police were initially called to Guildhall Street in Folkestone at 5.45am on Friday following concerns a man had potentially fallen from a building.
But when officers arrived, they discovered a large cannabis cultivation at the site.
The man, who was not seriously injured, was arrested and taken to hospital.
Further inquiries at the scene led to five more men being arrested on suspicion of various offences.
Liam Walker, 30, of Temple, Milton Keynes; Leo Joseph, 26, of Minard Road, Hither Green; Tony Kelly, 27, of Parker Avenue, Tilbury; and Abdulkadir Abdi, 28, of Underwood, Croydon, have all since been charged with burglary.
All four men appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 23 and the case was adjourned to Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, November 27.
Furthermore, a 34-year-old man from east London who was arrested in Shellons Street on suspicion of driving and drugs offences has been released on bail as part of the same investigation.
A 28-year-old man from Folkestone who was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis remains in police custody.
Inquiries into the site are ongoing.
