The police are investigating an incident where a motorist smashed into a parked car and left the scene, causing a fuel leak.
Firefighters and the police were called to deal with the spillage in Dover Road, Folkestone, at around 12.23am this morning.
It was coming from a parked car near the junction of Joyes Road and outside the Rob Roy Guest House.
Firefighter Richard Gatehouse, who was on duty at the time, said: "It had been bumped or something, but we left it in the hands of the police.
"We departed the scene after we made it safe, there was no one else at the scene."
A police spokesman said: "We had reports of a parked car leaking fuel following a collision with another vehicle which had left the scene.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
