Folkestone: Assault at The Stade by Folkestone Harbour

A man was beaten up and assaulted by a gang as he sat on a bench overlooking a harbour.

Police are now hunting for witnesses after the assault in Folkestone was reported in the early hours of last Thursday morning.

The victim was sitting on a bench on The Stade - which looks out over Folkestone Harbour - when he was approached by four men.

During the reported attack he suffered an injury to his shoulder before being given treatment in hospital.

The incident took place between 12.30am and 1.30am.

Officers are now asking for people to come forward if they saw or heard anything.

The four men have been described as 5ft 9in tall. One was described as white, unshaven and aged between 25 and 30 years old.

He was wearing a light blue hooded top and spoke with a local accent, police said.

He also had a gold stud in his right ear.
