Hundreds of copies of new Grand Theft Auto V game stolen in Folkestone lorry heist
15:00, 01 October 2013
Thieves in Folkestone have stolen more than 200 copies of the new Grand Theft Auto V video game worth almost £8,500.
The huge stash was taken from a lorry parked at the Truck Stop, in Folkestone Harbour, between 9pm on Sunday and 4pm yesterday.
The heist of the 210 games - for the PS3 console - is ironic as players are required to plan and carry out grand heists.
Now it appears elements of the game have spilled over into reality.
The games were in 14 cartons - 15 games in each - and are estimated to be worth £8,400.
Kent Police are appealing for information about the theft or games being sold unofficially or in suspicious circumstances.
Anyone with information is urged to phone Kent Police on 101, using reference ZY/29292/13, or DC Kay Brown on 01303 289428.
