10:22, 24 July 2007
A MASSIVE camp-out took place in a Kent town at the weekend as part of the Scouting centenary celebrations.
A hundred Cubs and Scouts camped in tents and huts at St Mary’s Bay Rugby Club, Folkestone, on Friday evening.
They were joined by dozens of Beavers on Saturday who got involved with all the action.
Activities included a sandcastle competition, circus skills, swimming and volley ball.
There was also a giant birthday cake decorated with scouting logos to mark the 100th birthday of the Scouting and Guiding movement.
District commissioner, Janet Thomas, said great fun was had by all and even the weather was fantastic.
