Bakery giant Greggs to open new store on Cheriton Road, Folkestone

Greggs is set to open its first branch in Folkestone, it has been confirmed.
The bakery is set to open a concession inside the Shell petrol station on the Cheriton Road.
Signs advertising its arrival have been put up, with Shell staff saying work is due to commence next month with an opening date still to be confirmed.
Prior to its opening, fans of the popular chain have had to travel to Dover to bag one of its famous sausage rolls or steak bakes.
Another branch in New Romney opened last month. While the region’s first drive-thru Greggs opened for business in Sittingbourne in February.
Last month, Greggs revealed big expansion plans after reporting record high sales, as consumers flocked to the bakery chain for low-cost meals amid a cost-of-living squeeze.
The bakery chain reported total sales of £1.5 billion over 2022, a 23% surge on the £1.2 billion reported the previous year.
