Folkestone: Pavilion Road crash driver hunted by police

A driver is being hunted for this morning after fleeing a crash which left his car seriously damaged.

Police were called shortly after 8pm to the smash in Pavilion Road in Folkestone and found the driver had run off before they arrived.

No serious injuries were reported and the car collided with another vehicle in the residential street.

A spokesman for police said officers are carrying out inquiries to locate the driver of the crashed vehicle.

Witness reports that the driver was drunk have not been confirmed by police but it is understood statements are due to be taken in the next couple of days.

Firefighters were also called to the scene to make the scene safe.

The police spokesman added: "The cause of the collision is under investigation.

"There was also some damage to some road barriers, which KCC has been informed of."
