Hunt goes on for illegal immigrants
00:00, 11 April 2002
MORE than 20 of the 80 illegal immigrants who reached Folkestone on a freight train which travelled through the Channel Tunnel on Monday night are today still on run.
Operator English Welsh and Scottish Railways believe the men, understood to be from Afghanistan, boarded the service in Milan.
Many of the group were caught at the Dollands Moor freight depot and others on the M20, but it is thought around 25 have still not been rounded up.
It is the largest number to stow away on a fright train to Britain and comes days after French rail freight operator SNCF pledged to reinstate a full service through the Channel Tunnel because extra security had been provided at its yard in Frethun near Calais.
