Sign catches fire at Folkestone business
18:28, 09 April 2023
Firefighters were called to a fire behind a commercial business sign this afternoon.
Crews were called out at 1.37pm after accumulated rubbish, twigs and discarded smoking materials caught light behind the illuminated sign of a building in Guildhall Street, Folkestone.
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews said it was an easy task to extinguish the flames with what they described as "a quick blast" from their high-pressure hose reel jet.
Firefighters were off site by 2.20pm, having handed care of the premises back to the owner.
