A drug dealer who was caught selling heroin and crack cocaine two days after he was released from prison has been sent back to jail.
Joshua Begg was arrested after plain clothes police officers saw him dealing drugs in Folkestone earlier this year, on Saturday, February 6.
Officers had seen him meeting people in an alleyway near Foord Road.
As they approached, he dropped a package on the floor which was found to contain a small number of wraps of cocaine and heroin.
Analysis of his mobile phone showed it had been used to send out messages to drug users in the area offering both of the drugs.
The 28-year-old admitted possession of class A drugs with intent to supply at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday, March 23.
Begg, of Mount Pleasant Road, Folkestone, was brought back before the same court on Thursday, June 24 and jailed for two years and 11 months.
The fact he had been released from prison two days before the offences was treated as an aggravating factor at his sentencing hearing.
PC Ryan Alexander, Kent Police's investigating officer, said: "Class A drugs like those found in Begg's possession bring misery to users and their families and lead to knock-on crime and anti-social behaviour in our community.
"The message from this case could not be clearer: If you get involved in drug dealing, you can expect to go to prison when caught.
"I hope Begg learns that lesson during his latest sentence and turns his back on this illegal trade next time he is freed."
