Newly-crowned British number one Ray Jordan travels to Belgium this week for the latest leg of the World Racketlon Tour.

The 26-year-old from Folkestone rose to the top of the domestic rankings in the gruelling multi-event sport last month and was ranked 33rd in the world before the Belgian Open - which begins in Oudenaarde, East Flanders, on Friday.

The sport sees competitors take on opponents at table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis in back-to-back sets up to 21 points with the winner being the player who wins the most points overall - not necessarily the one who wins the most disciplines.

Table tennis specialist Jordan will compete in the Elite Class A and faces unseeded local player Lieven Plouy in the first round, attempting to book a tie with Czech world number 13 Peter Vezely in Round 2.

If he ousts Vezely, Jordan could face German tennis ace Oli Zwiers - among the tournament favourites.
