A restaurant carrying the name of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White is on its way to a Kent seafront this summer.
Bosses in charge of the Best Western Clifton Hotel on the Leas in Folkestone have confirmed the restaurant will be opened there in July.
It means cooks at the three star Victorian style hotel will be serving up dishes made famous by the TV chef, who is well-known for a putting a French twist on things.
Other restaurants around the country under the chain say on their website that they 'offer a great range of steaks in addition to some of Marco’s signature dishes.
These include his classic starters of French onion soup, beetroot & goats’ cheese salad to his fried haddock served with triple cooked chips as well an entrecote of veal mains.'
Kanagaratnam Rajamenon, managing director at Leaf Hotels, which owns the Best Western Folkestone hotel franchise, confirmed he has entered into a franchise agreement with the Black and White Hospitality Group to open Kent’s first Marco Pierre White restaurant there.
With 16 years' experience in the hospitality industry and having travelled around the world, Mr Rajamenon says he is very particular about the brand and franchise he would work with and has carefully selected Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill as his brand for the restaurant.
He said: ''We believe in quality and service standards and we always exceed the standards to provide a top notch service to our customers.
"We hope to open more branded outlets like this in order for our customers to enjoy at all our hotels.
"Works are being carried out to the existing restaurant to match the specifications of MPW standards and due to open third week of July.
"The staff and management are hugely excited of this new outlet which adds to the already opened Ocean Bleu bar, Costa Coffee Lounge and the Patio."
