Drivers are warned of delays for most of the evening as queues build on the M20 at Folkestone.

Lorries are waiting to get into the Eurotunnel terminal at junction 11a, blocking the lane and causing long tailbacks.

The delays and traffic queues have prompted police and Highways England officers to close junction 11a for the Eurotunnel terminal.

The trouble has been caused by work being carried out on the entry booths to the Channel Tunnel.

But there are no delays on cross-channel services, with departures leaving Folkestone running to schedule with six leaving per hour.

Eurotunnel's John Keefe said some 200 lorries are leaving on trains every hour.

Motorists have been advised to allow extra time whilst travelling on the coastbound carriageway.

Passengers for Eurotunnel are being advised not to queue with freight traffic on the M20.
