Pensioner and dog die following collision in New Dover Road, Capel-Le-Ferne

A pensioner and his dog have died following a collision last night.

It happened in New Dover Road, near the junction with Helena Road, in Capel-Le-Ferne at around 5pm.

Police say a black Nissan Qashqai car was involved in a collision with a pedestrian walking a dog.

A 79-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene. The dog also died following the collision.

The road was closed for several hours following the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing to anyone who saw the collision, or has CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage, to come forward.
