Teen from Deal arrested on suspicion of assault after trio attacked at sports ground

A 17-year-old boy from Deal has been arrested on suspicion of assault following a brutal attack on two men and a woman at a sports ground.

Police made a media appeal for witnesses following the incident that happened at the Three Hills Sports Park in Folkestone on the night of Friday, July 9.

As many as 12 yobs, believed to be teenagers, punched, kicked and stamped on the trio as they left the venue, with one man suffering a broken and dislocated ankle.

The girlfriend of one of the victims tried to dial for help, but was reportedly punched in the face, and her mobile phone was then stamped on and thrown over a fence.

Officers were called to the ground at Cheriton Road between 11pm and 11.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "The teenager has been released on bail to return to the police station on Thursday, October 27 pending further inquiries.

"The investigation is on-going."
