Man beaten in aggravated burglary in St Michael's Street, Folkestone

A victim of an armed burglary was beaten with a pole after confronting the intruder climbing through his window.
The incident happened at a property on St Michael’s Street in Folkestone at around 3.15am yesterday.
Police say the man living at the address discovered an unknown, would-be burglar entering through a rear window on the first floor.
When he confronted the unwelcome guest, he was hit several times with a pole. The suspect then left the property, and no items was taken.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "He is described as being a white man, aged in his 50s, 5ft 8in, stocky build with short grey hair.
"He wore dark coloured trousers and a dark shirt.
