Folkestone: Man charged with money laundering after being stopped at Channel Tunnel appears in court

A man has appeared in court after more than £300,000 in cash was discovered in a van stopped at the Channel Tunnel.
Paul Fairhurst, 40, of Stanley Park Avenue South, Liverpool, was arrested at the Folkestone terminal on Friday, July 21.
A total of £124,970 and 229,500 Euros - worth approximately £201,437 - was seized from the vehicle.
Following an investigation by Kent Police, Mr Fairhurst was charged with one count of money laundering.
He has been bailed to attend Canterbury Crown Court on Wednesday, November 14 after appearing at Folkestone magistrates yesterday.
A second man who was also arrested following the discovery of the cash has been released without charge.
