Man arrested in Folkestone following alleged rape in Manchester

Detectives investigating the rape of a woman in Manchester have arrested a man in Folkestone.

It comes after a distressed woman reported being raped to the concierge of the Great North Tower building in the city at 3am on Saturday.

It's believed the 23-year-old was attacked nearby as she made her way home following a night out.

Following a police appeal a 29-year-old was arrested in Folkestone yesterday on suspicion of rape.

He is still in custody for further police questioning.
