13:00, 17 March 2015
Police have released an appeal after a man was stabbed in the back while trying to escape a knifeman in a daylight attack.
Officers are seeking witnesses to the incident, which happened in the middle of Radnor Park in Folkestone shortly after 1.30pm last Wednesday.
The victim, a 49-year-old man from Folkestone, was airlifted to hospital with stab wounds after the air ambulance landed in the park.

He was sitting on a bench talking on his mobile phone near a woman with a child in a pushchair and two men described as being of Nepalese or Chinese appearance.
A man then approached the group and got into an argument with the victim, who started to run away but fell over.
The suspect then walked up to him and stabbed him in the back.
He managed to stagger to the nearby Royal Victoria Hospital's minor injuries unit, where he received treatment from nurses.
A police spokesman said: “Police would also like to find out who these people on the bench were as it is not clear.
“The suspect is described as a white man of skinny build with short dark hair, big brown eyes and was clean shaven wearing a blue Nike tracksuit.”
After being transferred into the care of air ambulance staff, he was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London.
The victim has made a good recovery so far after initially being taken into intensive care and is expected to be discharged from hospital in the next few days, police confirmed today.
Forensic officers spent Wednesday afternoon searching the area around the boating lake for evidence.
The area was still cordoned off the following morning while investigations continued.
Anyone with information is asked to call Det Con Tara Melton on 01843 222289 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
