Folkestone man injured after reported aggravated burglary

A man was taken to hospital after reportedly being attacked by burglars.
Two people have been charged after the victim and another woman were attacked at a home in Folkestone.
Police were called to Cheriton Road following reports that the pair had been assaulted and had their mobile phones stolen.
The man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital for injuries sustained during the attack, which took place at around 8.30pm on Tuesday August 16.
Detectives launched an investigation, and arrested two people in the days after the attack.
James Rooney, 56, of Charlotte Street in Folkestone, and Kayleigh Smith, 35, of no fixed address, have both appeared in court charged with three offences.
These include aggravated burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and affray.
After appearing at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court yesterday, they were bailed to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, September 26.
