Cash was stolen in the raid on the flat in Harbour Street but nobody was hurt.

Det Con Natasha Russell said: "We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have seen the men, including a cyclist who may even have spoken to one of them."

The men have been described as white, both with a medium build and were wearing gloves and dark coloured trainers.

One was also reportedly wearing a dark coloured jacket with a hood and dark trousers and a black beanie hat.

The other suspect was wearing a blue hooded top with the hood up and light-coloured tracksuit bottoms. He too was wearing gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting Kent Police reference ZY/2148/16.
